甲烷（CH4）、二氧化碳（CO2）和氧化亞氮（N2O）等具有溫室效應(yīng)的微量氣體稱為溫室氣體。
根據(jù)京都議定書中規(guī)定的6種溫室氣體為二氧化碳、甲烷、氧化亞氮、氫氟碳化合物、全氟碳化合物、六氟化硫。
后三種氣體造成溫室效應(yīng)的能力最強(qiáng)，但從對(duì)全球升溫的貢獻(xiàn)來說，CO2、CH4、N2O三大主要溫室氣體所占的比例最大，對(duì)全球變暖的總體貢獻(xiàn)占到77%，濃度也呈現(xiàn)出逐年升高的趨勢(shì)。
